1. HOW TO ENTER

For Makeover Entry: To enter The Makeover (“Contest”), sponsored by White Oaks Mall (“Sponsor”), you will need to enter via the Internet by going on-line to www.whiteoaksmall.ca and follow the link to The Makeover (“Contest Website”) and follow the instructions on the Enter Contest page. To be eligible to win, complete the entry form and submit a story on why you need a fashion makeover on the Contest Website. All entrants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to upload a display image, other additional images and a video for stronger impact. Once you feel the submission is complete you can then submit for approval by clicking on the “Publish” button. The Makeover Submission Team will then review entries for appropriateness and will then publish to the gallery for voting if the submission meets their approval.

The Contest begins on November 28, 2011 Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on January 31, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). Administrator’s computer is the official time keeping device for the Contest. All entries must be received by 11:59 a.m. ET on January 7, 2012 to be eligible for voting. The Contest Period is divided into two stages:

The Submission of Entries Stage:
Starts November 28, 2011 through January 7, 2012 11:59 a.m. ET.

The Voting of Entries Stage:
Starts January 8, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. ET through January 31, 2012 11:59 a.m. ET.

After the close of the Contest Period, ten (10) entries shall be selected as a finalist (“Finalist”) from all the entries submitted. The Finalist will be based on the top ten (10) accumulated votes received.

Limit of one (1) contest entry per person / email address.

2. PRIZES

Grand Prizes: There is three (3) Grand Prizes available to be won, each consisting of a one thousand dollar ($1,000 CDN) shopping spree at White Oaks Mall with White Oaks Mall’s Fashion Expert Sarah Francis. The Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded, there is no cash value.

Total retail value of all Grand Prizes is approximately $3,000.00 CDN

Secondary Prizes: There are seven (7) Finalist Prizes available, each consisting of a fifty dollar ($50 CDN) White Oaks Mall gift card, and five (5) Voters Prizes, each consisting of a fifty dollar ($50 CDN) White Oaks Mall gift card. All secondary prizes must be accepted as awarded, there is no cash value.

Total retail value of all Secondary Prizes is $600.00 CDN

Limit one (1) prize per person.

3. SELECTION OF WINNERS AND PRIZE CLAIMS

All entries must meet all requirements outlined to be entered into the Contest. Entries not meeting Contest entry criteria shall be disqualified. Once the entry has been approved and published on the Contest Website for viewing and voting, it will not be accessible for updates.

Sponsor shall disqualify any published entries they deemed does not follow the contest guidelines.

Selection of top ten Finalists

The top ten (10) Finalists shall be determined from the overall vote accumulation during the Voting of Entries Stage. Beginning on January 8, 2012 at 12:00 a.m., all voters shall be able to participate in the voting of their favourite entry from all the approved entries submitted in the Contest. All voting participants shall be allowed to vote for multiple entries, but only once per entry.

Before being declared a Contest Finalist, each of the ten (10) Finalist shall be required to sign and return, within the time stipulated in the documents, before being declared a Finalist, a “Declaration and Release”. If any of the selected entrants cannot be reached within three (3) business days after the Contest Period, fails to submit the completed Declaration and Release, Sponsor or its third party service provider shall conclude that the selected entrant has forfeited his/her being included as a Finalist, which may then be awarded to an alternate eligible entrant at the Sponsor’s discretion. Return of any Prize or Prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate eligible entrant.

Sponsor shall notify all Finalists on or about February 1, 2012. Sponsor may also select alternates. Alternates will not be notified of their selection as alternates.

Selection of the Grand Prize Winners

On or about February 8, 2012 in London, ON, Sarah Francis and the White Oaks Mall Submission Team will evaluate the top ten (10) entries received during the Contest Period.

The ten (10) Finalists shall be judged on the following criteria, but not limited to:

  • Fashion style or lack of
  • Creativity
  • Consumer Appeal

Selection of the Voting Winners

At 10:00 a.m. ET on or about February 6, 2012, a random draw will be conducted from the total voters entered during the Contest Period. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible voters entered. The five (5) Voters Secondary Prizes shall be awarded to five (5) different selected voters whose names will be randomly drawn from the voter entries. Each selected voter will be notified by telephone if he/she is eligible to win the Secondary Prizes. Before being declared a Voters Secondary Prize Winner, each selected voter shall be required to sign and return, within the time stipulated in the documents, before being declared a winner, a “Declaration and Release”. If any of the selected voters cannot be reached within ten (10) business days after the Contest Period, fails to submit the completed Declaration and Release, Sponsor or its third party service provider shall conclude that the selected voter has forfeited his/her being awarded a prize, which may then be awarded to an alternate eligible voter at the Sponsor’s discretion. Return of any Prize or Prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate eligible voter.

4. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to all residents of Ontario who are age of majority or who have reached the age of 13 and have been given permission by a parent or guardian to participate, except employees and those with whom they are domiciled, of the sponsors, their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies and agents. Winners agree to the use of their name, photograph and comments for advertising and promotional purposes by the Sponsor without additional compensation. Winners hereby agree to release the Sponsor, its affiliated companies, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotional agencies from any liability with respect to the Contest or their Prize.

5. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

All decisions of the Sponsor and the Makeover Submission Team are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest, and the Contest Sponsor and Makeover Submission Team shall not be held responsible for any accident, negligence, printing, administrative or other errors that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest.

The Contest Sponsor reserves the right to modify, amend or terminate this Contest in whole or in part, at any time without notice and with no obligation or liability, subject to applicable law.

Entries attempted by methods other than those described in these Official Rules shall be deemed void. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different e-mail addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant's entries and that participant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. A selected entrant may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of receipt.

Sponsor also reserves the right, at its sole discretion to disqualify from this Contest and any future contest or other promotion Sponsor conducts, any individual that it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or Contest Website; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

6. CONSENT TO COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

By entering the Contest and voluntarily providing his/her personal information, each entrant consents and agrees to the collection, use and disclosure of the entrant’s personal information by Sponsor and its third party service providers for the purpose of administering the Contest and fulfilling the Prizes. The Sponsor will not use an entrant’s personal information for any other reason, nor will the Sponsor otherwise disclose it to any third party without consent of entrant. See Sponsor’s Privacy Policy for information on how personal information is handled.

7. MISCELLANEOUS

In order to be eligible to win a Prize, entrants must comply with these Official Rules. All entries become property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants. The Sponsor and affiliates are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (5) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest, or use or misuse of any Prize. If for any reason an entrant's entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest, provided that if it is not possible to award another entry due to discontinuance of the Contest, or any part of it, for any reason, Sponsor, at its discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any or all of the Prizes offered herein. No more than the stated number of Prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of Prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of Prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, unawarded, eligible prize claims. The Sponsor reserves the right without notice to cancel, suspend or modify the Contest for any reason. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are incomplete, garbled, forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.

8. RELEASE

By entering the Contest, entrants agree that the Sponsor shall not be responsible or liable for any losses or injuries of any kind resulting from participating in the Contest or acceptance, possession and/or use or misuse of the Prize, and agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsor and its respective officers, directors, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, related companies, advertising and promotional agencies, third party service providers and Prize suppliers (collectively, the “Releasees”) from all claims or damages arising out of entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or acceptance, use or misuse of any Prize. By accepting the Prize, each winner agrees to the use of his/her name, city of residence, photograph and/or other likeness in any related publicity for the Sponsor, in any medium, including presence on the Sponsor’s website, without further compensation or permission, worldwide and in perpetuity. Sponsor makes no representation or warranty that any identification, videotape, photograph and/or likeness of the winner will be broadcast or used otherwise in any manner.
